Ideas wanted for Brooklyn projects

Greening the West partner Hobsons Bay City Council and CoDesign Studio are offering Brooklyn residents the chance to turn underutilised space into public spaces.

Brooklyn has been selected as one of three suburbs in Melbourne to receive an unconventional urban design makeover as part of the Neighbourhood Project.

The council has received a $30,000 grant to build out-of-the-box temporary community projects.

In addition, the council will invest another $30,000 for the project, which will see the development of three temporary community projects in Brooklyn.

Residents can add their ideas on what the projects should be at www.theneighbourhoodproject.org/brooklyn. Submission close on September 12.

Residents are then invited to get together and decide on the final three projects which will be implemented by the community with council help.

These three ideas will be developed for implementation between November and February next year.

Sounds great to us!
