In 2013 City West Water partnered with Victoria University on a Living Walls project.

The project involved the design and construction of custom built green wall modules, for installation at Altona North and Footscray North primary schools. Coordinated by final year Victoria University Engineering students, the project included the cooperation and input of the participating schools that were specially selected by Victoria University.

Green walls have the potential to deliver a range of benefits including the introduction of vegetation into environments with limited space and the provision of thermal insulation as well as shade and ventilation for the building.

Benefits

  • Improves air quality
  • Improves wellbeing
  • Reduces electricity costs
  • Beautification
